US Regional Sales Manager

 

Our client an international manufacturer of household specialty products has a dealer and distributor base throughout North America, Europe and Asia. We are currently looking to fill the following opportunity:

 

 US Regional Sales Manager - Western US

Reporting to the US Sales Director and covering the Western US, you will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned territories. You will direct a sales team [6 – 8] and provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and sales growth in line with the business plan. Establish and implement strategies to expand customer base and programs for Dealers and Account Executives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and direct Sales force to achieve sales and profit goals
  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the region
  • Responsible for the performance and development of Account Executives
  • Conduct one-on-one review with all Territory Managers to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Account Executives sales and activity performance
  • Prepare action plans by individual as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects. Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets
  • Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding sales and territory performance and prepare monthly sales report detailing sales, activities, significant events, competition, etc.
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Assist Account Executives in preparation of proposals and presentations when necessary
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Recruit, hire and train Account Executives based on criteria agreed upon by senior management
  • Assist and participate in national, regional and local promotions for the company including trade and consumer shows where applicable.
  • Maintain at all times a variety of demo products for demonstration and use. (To be determined by the Divisional VP).
  • Actively communicate company activities and events through Social Media, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

 

Education & Experience:

 

College/University degree mandatory with MBA preferred

Minimum five years’ experience in sales.

Five years managing and developing associates/sales team.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM program)

Must have proven experience managing and supporting a sales team, and growing sales in a defined Region within the specialty retail environment

Extensive territory travel and weekend work as/when required.

The ability to travel throughout USA and Canada and work from a home office environment
