Conference Production Manager 

 

Based out of Toronto, and reporting to the Director of Production, the role is accountable for the profitable production and quality of industry events produced by both themselves and their team [direct reports]. The role requires a highly motivated individual with experience in producing conferences who possesses excellent networking, research, writing and people management skills.

 

Core Responsibilities:

Responsible for the productivity, profitability and quality of events including those produced by the designated Conference Producers

Mentor, develop and coach Conference Producers

Generate and validate new, innovative and viable commercial conference topics.

In conjunction with the Director of Production, develop and maintain a forward schedule of events and assign as appropriate to team member.

Write topic briefs, develop detailed program agendas, sign off on go/no-go documents and review conference programs for Conference Producers.

Effectively manage internal and external stakeholder relationships including identifying and securing senior executives/ thought leaders, consultants, researchers and other world-class expert speakers.

Other responsibilities based on business need

 

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to stakeholders at all levels
  • Conference industry experience required including proven successful topic generation
  • Experienced coach and mentor for a team of Conference Producers
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally (approximately 25% travel)
  • French is an asset
